There are so many to mention--but for now I would have to say my pastor and my bestest best friend--Times when i don't want to mention anything to anyone I talk with my husband--i know he will be honest with me more than anyone--Then when i can't talk to anyone at all, I bow my head and talk with the Lord--He hears all and knows my heart and He gives me the strength to carry on--
I have to agree -- my husband, who is also my pastor and bestest best friend is my greatest encourager. He has shown himself faithful over & over again to love me no matter what. He leads by example and keeps my confidences. We're changing ministries next week and he will no longer be pastoring a church; however, he will ALWAYS be MY pastor.
My father, who was a pastor and counselor for Back to the Bible Broadcast for 40+ years. He never judged or criticized me as a father may want to do but as a role model, he showed me what to do and Who to go to. Now, the roles are reversed and he is the child and I, the parent, as my father is now 90 with Alzheimers. It's a struggle as his personality has also changed. The man looks just like my dad, but unfortunately, the wonderful encourager and strong Christian father seldom shows himself any more. But the memories of what he taught me are ingrained.
In my formidable years it definitely was my mother and she still encourages me today. Also, for the past 29 years, my husband has kept me balanced in encouragement-when I'm down he's up and visa versa! But the number one most dependable, dynamic and perfect encourager I or anyone can have is our Lord Jesus Christ...He is soooooo faithful!
